The Korean Buddhist monk Han Jong-un (1879-1944), monk name Manhe (meaning Ten Thousand Seas), was both a Zen master in his lifetime and an active participant in the resistance against the Japanese occupiers in 1919. He also wrote several novels, but is most famous for his 1926 collection of meditative prose poems, Your Silence, which is now considered part of the canon of modern Korean literature. Translated from the Korean, with a foreword by Ivana M. Gruberová and notes.
