Sny...

The second edition of Snů... in the Revolver Revue edition follows the three-volume edition of Zbyněk Hejda's work published by Triada. The author's texts, linked by the theme of dreams, which readers of Hejda's poetry have known since his first collection of poems, Všechna slast, and which they also encounter in unpublished manuscripts from earlier and more recent times in Sny..., "represent a new value in Czech literature: from the symbolist imagery of the turn of the 19th century to the symbolist imagery of the 20th century. They are distinguished from the surrealist outpourings of the first and second generations by their stylistic freedom from any ornamentation, automatic writing and hints of developing the plot. The matter-of-factness of dream writing gives rise to diary entries that, taken as a whole, report not only on a sensitive listening and monitoring of one's own subconscious, but also on an equally attentive literary reflection," writes Michael Špirit, editor of Dreams.....
