Dva životy (Hovory s Viktorem Fischlem)
The books tell the life story of the Czech writer and Israeli diplomat Viktor Fischl, who recalls his childhood in Hradec Kralove, his studies, his fascination with poetry and his first poetic attempts, as well as his period of exile in London (1939-1945) alongside Jan Masaryk. After the February 1948 coup d'état, the author went to Jerusalem, adopted the Hebrew name Avigdor Dagan and worked in the Israeli diplomatic service for almost thirty years. The book is also a great reflection by the ninety-year-old author on eternal themes that Viktor Fischl captures in wise and literary beautiful language - chapters on writing, Jews, old age, the Holocaust, human roots, and more. The book of interviews with Viktor Fischl was compiled by journalist Dana Eminger.
