The monograph is the result of many years of research work, the main author of which - the renowned theologian Prof. Ctirad Václav Pospíšil - admits that he himself had to go through a long thorny path from fear of the Masons to the discovery of the true state of affairs, i.e. to a kind of liberation. Together with his colleagues Veronika Řeháková and Jan Sušer, they now want to take the reader along the same path. This is the first such undertaking in the history of Czech Catholic theology and historiography from the revival to the present. 

In the context of the diversity of opinion in Czech society, the book is likely to provoke a wide range of contrasting reactions, but if the reader approaches it without prejudice, it will be up to him or her to form a judgment from the facts presented. The book has a chance to interest not only those who want to learn something about Czech and world Freemasonry, but also those interested in the study of history and the general public.
