The main strength of the book The Beauty of the World's Shapes by Spanish children's author Soledad Romero Mariño is undoubtedly its graphic design, which fits perfectly with the geometric theme of the selected topics. Credit for this goes to illustrator Renee Hao. The book is divided into 11 chapters, each with two double pages, and focuses on a specific mathematical phenomenon at a general level and in relation to nature. The sphere as a perfect shape, the hexagon and its presence in nature, the arrangement of leaves, seeds, flowers, the symmetry of butterfly wings, animal mimicry, the golden ratio, etc. – this is just a short list of places in nature where we can encounter the perfect beauty of geometric shapes.
