Americká noc

American Night is the second volume of Morrison's poetry and lyrics to be published posthumously by Villard Books, thus completing the effort begun with the publication of Wilderness in 1988. The aim was to publish, in its best and most complete form, all of the author's work.
The material contained in these books comes primarily from the diaries, notebooks, manuscripts, and unclassified, handwritten letters Morrison left in the care of his wife Pamela at the time of his death in Paris in 1971.
In addition to many poems, the collection includes Morrison's seminal song lyrics (American Prayer, Celebration of the Lizard, The End, When the Music Ends, Silent Parade) and the screenplay for the unfinished film Hitchhiker.
