The Jewish Yearbook for the year 5780 contains a total of ten texts on 168 pages. The first of these is the introductory chapter from Memories of Subcarpathian Ruthenia by Sarah Udi. / Doreen Warriner arrived in Prague in October 1938 and successfully organized rescue transports for people persecuted by the Nazis. The Yearbook contains several excerpts from the book written about her by her nephew Henry Warriner. / The historian Alžběta Langová deals with a chapter in Czech post-war history that is still unclosed in her text The Tragedy of Hroubovice. / In her study, the French writer and historian Anka Muhlsteinová outlines the individual stages of the life and work of the Austrian Jewish writer Joseph Roth and evaluates the almost forgotten novel The Hundred Days in its context, in which Roth devotes himself to Emperor Napoleon. / The story of two women who survived the Shoah and meet years later is the subject of a bitter story by the American author Irv Schenkler entitled The Last Night My Mother Felt Young. / Among the younger writers in Germany are many authors who were not born in this country. They include a number of Jewish authors, including Lena Gorelik, who is introduced in the yearbook with the short story Hello, Míšo. / Poetry in this year's volume is represented by the remarkable Yiddish poet Ovsej (Šike) Driz (1908–1971). He came to the attention of readers primarily through the Russian translations by Genrich Sapgir. / Israeli literature is represented by the short story Memorial of the Resurrection, written by Yitzhak Oren. / The original prose written in Czech is represented by the last two texts: the short story Snacha by Chaim Cigan (K. E. Sidon) and the story Na vinici by David Jan Novotný from the book Bible for the Elderly and Advanced.
