Twenty-five years on, a brand new translation of Anne Frank's diary has been published. For the first time in English with the title that the author herself intended for her work.

Anne Frank kept her diary in letters from 12 June 1942 to 1 August 1944. She kept it to herself until she heard the Dutch Minister of Education in Exile speak on Radio Oranje in London in the spring of 1944. He called for people to collect and publish all testimonies of the suffering of the Dutch people under German occupation after the end of the war. Among other examples, he cited the diaries. Under the impression of this speech, Anne Frank decided to publish a book after the war. Her diary was to be the basis for it.
