The centrepiece of the volume is a lecture series from 1933, in which the Spanish philosopher made one of the first ever attempts at a theoretical grasp of technology and its relationship to man. In other essays, Ortega y Gasset comments on the late Heidegger, whom he met at the Darmstadt Colloquium, on philosophical style, on architecture, and on the theoretical problems of physics.
