Umění protestu
Protest activities are growing in our country and around the world. This fact is so obvious that even those who believe that the reason to protest ceased with 1989 dare not deny it. Occupy Wall Street, the M15/Indignados, the protests in Russia, the Arab and European Spring - these are just a few examples.
Yet Czech civil society remains somewhat lax and sceptical in defending its interests. A collection of essays, interviews and instructions, The Art of Protest, which combines theoretical reflection on pressing social phenomena with practical advice and experiences of committed individuals who have long been linking artistic and political activities in the public space, could help to shake it out of its traditional passivity.
It is the first publication of its kind in Czech. Humour is present.
