Andrés Sánchez Robayna is a poet who seems to hunt his verses out of thin air. He knows the purity of this element intimately from his native Canary Islands and from his travels to Greece. He can sense when it changes colour, when it darkens and when it brightens in the night, and describe the moment when it thickens into a memory of a woman or the swinging bells of his childhood. He is a poet who can wait patiently for the fleeting moment when "one single drop of eternity cut through time" falls through the air.
