The book The Theorem of the Stone Garden uniquely maps the environment of Bohumil Kafka's Rooftop Studio and the adjacent garden, with the boundary between the two spaces being unclear and permeable. The book unsettles both the utilitarian perception of the site and its clearly contoured interpretation. Instead, it offers a reflexive, questioning approach, referring to concepts such as the poetics of space, cultural memory and genius loci. "Studio" and "garden" become ambiguous, living concepts that the book considers in multiple layers in a way that creates its own polyphonic dialogue. Slávka Hajdeckerová's time-lapse photographic documentation, created at Kafkárna over the course of three years, is complemented by Klára Krásenská's imaginative poetic texts that respond to the specific spaces here. The book is framed by essayistic texts by David Bláha and Matúš Lipus, offering other possible readings of the site. As a publication itself, The Theory of the Stone Garden approaches an organic but diverse whole and takes from the space it reflects a call for a perceptive and open reading
