When we say Troy, we certainly think of the legendary city made famous in Homer's Iliad, but more often we also think of the place where we usually visited the zoo for the first time.

Troja, many centuries ago called Ovenec Zadní and Ovenec Horní or Svrchní, is a district of Prague with a rich history, sights and modern architecture.

The new publication from the pen of renowned authors, led by ing. arch. Petr Krajči will guide us through this wealth.

In the 240 pages of the book, we will walk through 61 buildings and building complexes in words and numerous images, from the medieval village with the settlement of Rybáře, more than a dozen homesteads such as Salabka, Sklenářka Kazanka and others, vineyard houses, guiding us through former places of excursion and garden restaurants and charming corners. We will be thoroughly acquainted with the Troja Castle and its gardens, the zoological garden with dozens of buildings from its more than eighty-year history, among them, for example, Gočár's houses or new pavilions, I am sure that many will be interested in the information about the botanical garden in Troja with the Fata Morgana greenhouse. Among the dozens of remarkable villas, you will surely be interested in the villa of director Věra Chytilová or the Stück villa of architect Mühlstein Fürth. Or the bridges that take you to Troja. The Troja Bridge, now the Barricade Bridge, from 1928, the Troja Footbridge from 1984, or the recently opened new Troja Bridge.
