The book presents a selection of interviews published in Revolver Revue or Critical Supplement of RR from its samizdat beginnings to the present. Interviewees of different generations, origins, fates, experiences and professional backgrounds find themselves here in close but also unexpected and surprising neighbourhoods and contexts. Among them are writers and poets, both living and now dead (Josef Topol, Dimitrij Savitsky, Jan Novák, Allen Ginsberg, Viola Fischer, Kazimierz Orłoś, Jaroslav Formánek, Hélène Cixous, Martin Ryšavý, Yves Bonnefoy, Zbyněk Hejda, J. Many of the interviews are nowadays irreplaceable documents, sometimes they are the only or the only substantial interview given by the interviewee, many of them were written before the interviewees became more widely known. Above all, however, they are all living proof of the ability to think reflectively and revelatorily about creation, art and society in the surrounding world, as well as about one's own life and work, not only in totalitarian and post-totalitarian Bohemia.
