Much has been written about the Lord's Prayer. This book aims to descend to the Semitic sources of this biblical prayer and to contemplate it in the spirit of the mystical Jewish tradition that has accompanied the sacred texts since the earliest times. According to this tradition, every little thing in the Bible has its meaning - the stories, the individual words, the numerical symbols and the shapes of the letters all have their origin in God. The text of the prayer meditated on in the book is based on the manuscripts Sinaiticus and Curetonianus, early translations into Aramaic written in Syriac script. These manuscripts predate in time the ancient 5th century Syriac translation of the Peshitta.
