Weil's newspaper reports and articles date from the period between July 1933, when the author leaves for a working stay in the USSR, and the end of 1937, when he publishes his novel Moscow-Borders. It is then that the rupture with the Communist Party, which began during his stay in the Soviet Union, is completed. The volume contains, among other things, the 1937 title Czechs Building in the Land of Five, in which Weil heroizes the work commitment of his compatriots who chose to live and work permanently in the USSR.
