A theatre play from 1968, with an introductory text by Milan Kundera The author asks the author. An unexpected discovery in the archives of the Na zábradlí Theatre aspires to be an extraordinary event in Czech cultural life. It is an authentic recording of a performance of Milan Kundera's play Ptákovina, dated 14 January 1970, just before the censorship ban on the play. The investigating committee rewards the falsely accused pupil, who is trying hard to admit his wrongdoing, with the fate of a cop.

At the end of the play, a crucial message is uttered from the lips of the victorious unfaithful lecher: "Power is sweetest when it is totally inadequate. When the fool rules over the wise, the weak over the strong, the ugly over the beautiful..."
