Poznáním osvobozovat budoucí
The book offers an overall interpretation of Walter Benjamin's thought through an interpretation of his theory of truth. According to Benjamin, truth is in things themselves, not in knowledge, but it is not perfectly expressed in the world, and Benjamin therefore asks what means of knowledge and expression can be used to make it present. Making the truth present is not only a theoretical problem, but also an ethical and political problem, even an eschatological one: the truth requires its own making present, its own actualization, and it is therefore necessary to change, to save the world. The reconstruction of Benjamin's theory of truth thus makes it possible to show the interconnectedness of the theoretical and practical, materialist and religious moments of Benjamin's thought.
