Pomalý sešit

A selection of poems written between 2009 and 2023.Jan Makhonin (1976) reflects on the more than fifteen years he spent in Russia - mainly moments connected with the search for a new home, departures and returns. Makhonin's poetry is laconic, with an inherent sense of irony and absurdity, building on internal contradictions of meaning and language itself. The individual poems are dated and the place of composition is often indicated - thus forming something of a poetic diary.
