Plótinos
Jaspers' treatise on Plotinus, the last great philosopher of antiquity, is not a dry analysis of philological details and historical influences; rather, it is a meditation that penetrates through Plotinus' system to living thought. He shows that the apparently objective scheme of Plotinus' philosophy is in fact a picture of the world used to describe the active and free rise and fall of the soul; thus Plotinus' metaphysics can still be a tool for interpreting human freedom and life's meaning today.
