Osudy a jejich pán

In the fourteen stories that make up this book, the themes that Goldflam explores again and again appear. In this sense, the new collection of texts builds on the already published prose pieces and could perhaps even be called Still on One II. But - and this is remarkable - at the same time nothing is really repeated. The protagonists of the individual stories, similar to the heroes of picaresque stories and novels, regularly find themselves in situations where the stereotypes of life no longer protect them. The familiar disappears and they wander through a world that sets strange and incomprehensible obstacles to their sorrows, uncertainties and hopes, and has strange, if often banal, surprises in store for everyone. Except perhaps for the children, people are not really looking for a way out. And that is what is fatal for them.
