Vocabularius dictus Lactifer is a Latin dictionary and one of the first Bohemian prints (printed in Pilsen in 1511). The basic set of terms of the fourth book (De monstruosis hominibus), which denote individual physical anomalies, strange exotic peoples and hybrid mythological monsters, was taken by the author from the Vocabularius breviloquus of the German humanist Johann Reuchlin and supplemented by the names of human monsters found in other works of ancient and medieval authors. In addition, he himself created many names of monsters and enriched the text with their Czech equivalents.
