Krátké letní procesy
The second of four volumes of a composite retrospective arranged by the author. It presents work from the legendary years of the 1960s: a selection from the first three published collections (1961, 1963, 1968) is complemented by a manuscript collection Short Summer Trials from 1965, excerpts from translated works, and a convolute of texts from 1970-1971, when the author was no longer allowed to publish. The focus of the volume, however, is on an expanded form of the collection Deferring Landscape: the 1970 edition was scrapped, and a reprint was published by an exiled London publisher in 1983. Only the third edition of 1992 was able to be appreciated by domestic critics: "even after more than twenty years, it is a collection that, with its courage, aspires to be one of the peaks of post-war Czech poetry" (P. A. Bílek).
