The publication Bookbinding from Dunhuang discusses bookbinding in the Far East. It focuses in particular on the bookbinding of China, as it is based on research in the archives of the International Dunhuang Project, an institution that collects and examines bookbindings and other documents found in Tunhuang and Turfan at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It documents nearly two thousand years of bookbinding history and provides guidance on how to use the legacy of traditional Far Eastern bookbinding in the present day. In this new and revised edition, the book is enriched by the insights the author has gained recently, especially through his studies at the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou
