The book Kafka. Beyond Minority Literature, published in 1975, is the second joint text of the two authors, a kind of digression between two great writings. The text was written against the background of the concepts developed in Anti-Oedipus, but the main theme is Kafka himself and the problems immanent to his work. Deleuze says of the book, "What interests me, or should interest me, is not psychoanalysis or psychology or linguistics, but the character mode of any given author. That only became clear to us when Félix came into the picture and when we wrote the book on Kafka." As the authors repeatedly stress, they are not concerned with interpreting Kafka, but rather with following the movements of the work and bringing them to their consequences. In this respect, the book does not lack the pathos of the programme and can boldly be called a manifesto of minority literature.
