Jan Lopatka 1940 - 1993
The book is based on papers presented at a conference on the life and work of the critic, editor and editor Jan Lopatka (7 February 1940 - 9 July 1993), which Revolver Revue organized last year, following a symposium and subsequent proceedings on the legacy of I. M. Jirous. Studies and essays by authors of different generations and professional backgrounds cover not only Lopatko's critical and interpretive work and his editorial and editorial work, but also his civic engagement, as well as some of the various reflections on his person and work. The second part of the book brings together a number of memorial texts on Jan Lopatka, and thus the whole provides a plastic monographic picture of an exceptional personality of Czech criticism, literature and society. The volume, prepared for publication by Edita Onuferová and Terezie Pokorná, also contains numerous photographs, documents from the StB archives and a new detailed glossary.
