The collective monograph of a total of fifteen authors focuses on the life and work of the prominent Bohemian scholar and literary historian Antonín Škarka. The first part of the book is devoted to his life spent in the conditions of socialist science: the influences that affected Škarka, his early scientific works, and his importance in Comeniology. The second part contains chapters examining the procedures of his critical and interpretative methods on selected Bohemian topics (medieval verse sermons, planks, and baroque mysticism).
