Filosofie 19. a 20. století I. (Dějiny filosofie, sv. 11)

A History of Philosophy offers both an introduction to and a critical assessment of two of the most vibrant philosophical movements of the 20th century, especially in its first half: analytic philosophy and American pragmatism. Although both movements still have adherents today, their roots lie in the 19th century. The volume is divided into three main parts: in the first part we find authors such as Bernard Bolzano, Franz Brentano or Ernst Mach, in whom we find hints of an analytical way of thinking. The second part deals with American pragmatism and the third part with the analytic tradition from Gottlob Frege to Willard Van Orman Quine.
