Deníky (výbor z let 1922-1964)
Czech painter, graphic artist, illustrator, sculptor, carver, writer and poet. His work was influenced by Expressionism and elements of Symbolism, Naturalism and Art Nouveau, but he attempted his own stylistically undefined artistic expression.
The main part of his work dates back to the First Republic, while under the Communist regime he had existential problems. Among his best-known works are the book The Bloody Novel and the illustrations for Demel's Castle of Death. He was not appreciated during his lifetime, and only received some recognition with the title of Meritorious Artist in 1969.
