Ďáblova zahrádka aneb Přírodopis strašidel

This is the second edition (the first in 1992) of a reprint of Váchal's original from 1924 published by Paseka, one of the artist's most prolific periods. In 1924 he completed, among other things, the murals in Portman's house in Litomyšl and published his most popular book, The Bloody Novel, at the end of which he is already firmly determined to begin a better and more dignified work - Postyla kacířská.

The Natural History of the Haunted is formally an ironization and parody of the then important scientific encyclopedic work, Brehm's Animal Life, but it maps a completely different world, the world of the author's inner consciousness and subconscious.
