The aim of the publication Man to Man is to bring the reader closer to the professional and friendly intersection of the doctor Karel Koch (1890-1981) and the architect Dušan Jurkovič (1868-1947), which resulted in the joint realization of the Koch sanatorium with a unique garden in Bratislava. The title of the book Man to Man refers to the central motif of Koch's thought: the highest mission of man is humanity, which is to be fulfilled in unconditionally human action and service to another human being. The saying is reminiscent of Goethe's words, to which Koch repeatedly refers in his texts: "I myself consider it possible that humanity will finally triumph, only I fear that then the world will be a great infirmary in which man will be man's nurse!" In other words, before humanity realizes the meaning of this supreme value, the damage done may be immeasurable. At that point, humanity will be the only remedy. Both Karel Koch and Dusan Jurkovic were witnesses and active participants in this during both world wars and the post-war period. We are also witnessing this today.
