The book is divided into 9 chapters: The Story Begins, Family is the Foundation of Everything, People Around Us, Artificial Human Robot, Hooray for the Holidays, What We Feel, Once Upon a Time, The Landscape We Live In and How War Comes. Fantomas and Robot introduce the reader to the literary works of Karel Čapek (especially Dášeňka čili život štěněte, RUR, From Life, Insects, Krakatit, Nine Fairy Tales, The Gardener's Year, War with the Mlocks) and a cross-section of Josef Čapek's art. Each chapter is accompanied by tasks focused on image perception and working with text, vocabulary development and critical thinking. The work of the Čapek brothers is a vehicle for exploring family relationships, human qualities, relationships to nature, gardening, landscape, and, of course, art. The second volume - a sketchbook - is filled with creative tasks to complete or draw. For example, children will try their hand at painting a self-portrait, creating a family tree, playing a memory game and learning the nautical alphabet...
