Alois Musil: Prameny k životu a dílu

The introductory volume of the edition Prameny PNP is devoted to the orientalist, traveller and writer Alois Musil (1868-1944), a personality whose researches at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries contributed significantly to the knowledge of the vast regions of the Middle East. The publication includes an inventory of the archival holdings from the collections of the Literary Archive of the Memorial of National Literature and two studies devoted to Musil's difficult transition to Charles University after the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic and his sojourns in the English-speaking world, especially related to his culminating six-volume scholarly work Oriental Explorations and Studies (1926-1928).
